Description: In school year 2008-2009, more than 90 percent of Montgomery County Public Schools' (MCPS) Grade 10 students took the PSAT. The 2008-2009 Grade 10 PSAT participation target (93.7 percent) was met by Asian American and White students. However, the target was not met for all students; African American and Hispanic students; and students who received Free and Reduced-price Meals System (FARMS), special education, or English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) services. There was an improvement in PSAT participation results in all subgroups in 2008-2009 compared with PSAT participation results for 2007-2008 with the exception of students eligible for FARMS services.
