Description: This analysis presents three sets of findings that compared the performance of students in the Phase I Middle School Reform schools with the performance of students in the Middle School Magnet Consortium schools. Performance of students in the two groups of schools was comparable overall. The positive results after Year one of Middle School Reform implementation and the results after Year three of Middle School Magnet Consortium implementation suggest clear benefits of both initiatives.
